CrossFit HTF Co-Owner/Head Coach/Army Ranger

Passion:  Doing anything I can to give back.

Philosophy: You make a living by what you make, you make a life by what you give
                    - Winston Churchill

Ian’s intensity is a constant whether he’s serving our country or training clients. He’s a proud graduate of the Ranger Indoctrination Program and Ranger School and now pours his passion into building the CrossFit HTF community and helping members reach their goals.

Ian credits the Rangers with teaching him not to give up, not to back down, and to keep going. That drive carried him through three deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq from 2006 to 2007, and through the growing pains of starting his own CrossFit box. Ian achieved that goal thanks to great advice from a Ranger buddy in 2008. He said, “Don't get out of the Army. Re-enlist and go back to Hawaii. Once you have a year left, then get your next career moving.”

He opened CrossFit HI Town Fitness in 2012, and lived off energy drinks and coffee in the beginning. The long hours and hard work were worth it for Ian to build his box into a solid community that creates funny videos that have gone viral. Ian's goals are to create a competition team that really brings notice to CrossFit HTF and to move to a bigger location.
